Thanksgiving :)

OMG! Today is the last day of school before the Thanksgiving holiday and I can’t wait to go home and sleep in for the next 5 days. I am not going anywhere for the break, but I am going to bake sweets for Thanksgiving. We don’t hold Thanksgiving at my house, but my family goes to my dad’s mom’s house for a Thanksgiving lunch and we go to my mom’s, mom’s house for Thanksgiving dinner. My sister and I are going to help my mom bake sweets for both of my grandma’s houses. We are going to bake 2 pumpkin pies, 1 batch of cookies, and 1 batch of lemon bars. All of the kids on my dad’s side loves the lemon bars and eats them all up, so there is no more for the parents. :) My mom’s side of the family loves the homemade pumpkin pie, and also the lemon bars. My mom, sister, and I have soooooo much fun baking together during the holiday seasons and look forward to it every year.
I can’t wait until tomorrow because my cousins and their parents are coming, from up north in Elk Rapids, to spend Thanksgiving in Livonia. They come every year to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with us. My cousin, Amanda, is only 2 years older than me and we really like to spend time together. She has a brother, so she likes to have a girl to hang out with. Amanda does a great job drawing people, so she always draws pictures of our cousins. Sometimes Amanda and I go shopping the day after Thanksgiving to get gifts for Christmas for our cousins. We always have so much fun shopping and hanging out with each other. She is my favorite cousin on my dad’s side of the family, but don’t tell any of my other cousins I said that. ;)

Happy Thanksgiving!

SNOW :)

It is the first snow of the season and I am so excited!!!!! I was already excited for winter when I heard 100.3 playing Christmas music on the radio, but now it definitely feels like the winter season. I think that winter is my favorite season because everything outside is beautiful, covered in white fluffy snow. Some people say that they don’t like winter because it is cold outside, but I don’t mind the cold. My dad wants summer to come because he can live without shoveling the driveway and sidewalk, and my mom doesn’t really care if it is cold outside. My sister on the other hand hates winter and the cold because if she plays outside in the snow for about an hour her body gets so cold that she feels like she is frozen.

Yesterday, after the snow had started to fall, my sister had a birthday party to go to, so I went with my mom to drop my sister off at the party. After my mom and I dropped my sister off, the snowflakes were all clumped together and falling faster. My mom was driving really slow because the road was already getting slick. I felt like we were going through a huge never ending blizzard. I was nervous that we were going to spin out because we saw a few cars that crashed because they spun out. My dad called my mom’s cell phone to see if we were driving safely on the freeway because on the news they said that there were many snow-related accidents. I was very relieved to be in our house after the crazy drive in the blizzard. When it was time to go pick my sister up from the party, it was still snowing really hard so I decided not to go to pick her up with my mom.
